Along the wine road embraced by the villages of Svetinje and Jeruzalem, there is a Malek Vineyard Cottage. In the cottage, there is an arched cellar located beneath the large press. A special feature of the building is an indoor chapel with a preserved baroque fresco of the Mary’s Assumption dating back to the first half of the 18th century. The large vineyard cottage was once under the Branek Lordship whose owners were the Friuli Counts from the Codroipo family. At the end of the 19th century the Fischerau family, landowners and wine merchants from Leoben, became the owners of Malek and the estate in Veličane.
Today, the vineyard cottage is arranged as a tourist object for organized groups and individual visitors.
The vineyard cottage offers a wine tasting experience among the Jeruzalem hills and a possibility to purchase their selection of wines, the visit to the arched cellar, the old press, the chapel, and a smaller wine growing museum. One can spend autumn days in the Malek Vineyard Cottage for private meeting, business events, or for organizing popular team building workshops.
